Scenario 3) Oasis is discovered and the Brotherhood torches the place and slaughters the Treeminders because they probably wouldn't take to kindly to a bunch of wastelanders worshiping a FEV mutant with plans of "spreading his influence everywhere" again. Scenario 2) Oasis is discovered and Brotherhood overlooks their hatred of mutants brokers a peace with the Treeminders.
Scenario 1) Oasis is undiscovered and the Treeminders continue to tend to the plants and trees of Oasis while keeping Harold a secret. It all really depends on the Brotherhood of Steel and whether or not they found Oasis, and how they would react to the Treeminders and Harold. It's quite possible (given they had 10 years) that the Brotherhood eventually looked into where all that green shit was coming from and decided to kill Harold for being a mutant (and an FEV mutant at that), thus killing all the plant-life like he wants you to do in Fallout3. What are the theories or peoples preferences for what happened to Harold. Now from what I've seen there's no mention of Harold/Bob in Fallout4, and people still refer to it as the Wasteland so presumably the area hasn't been overcome by Bobs growth.
The fast growth in the shorter time period doesn't necessarily indicate exponetional growth of Bob, but it's a possibility that once he's in tree stage, he'll continue to grow at a decent rate. The tree growing out of him (named Bob) now has a few visible twigs that can be seen around his head but overall he's still able to move around.įlash forward to Fallout3, a mere 30 years later, and Bob has blossomed into not just a full tree, but a whole network of trees, that's started to spill over into the wasteland. Now, between the events of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 is some 80 years, and Harold (being a mutant) doesn't really age all that much.
By the time Fallout3 rolls around, Harold has left the West Coast, travelled to the Capital Wasteland and has turned into a network of trees that is the only source of green flora in DC. So during the events of Oasis in Fallout3, the PC runs across Harold, an individual from the first two Fallout games who fell into some FEV vats, got a bit mutated and now has a tree growing out of his head.
